Our client is a 45-year-old business based in the US and is a leading international media source covering the global cruise ship business. Their website, print magazine, and various reports are highly regarded and used by senior leaders at cruise lines, ports, shipyards, key suppliers, and other industry professionals globally. They are dedicated to providing timely and relevant information on new ship launches, industry trends, market analysis, and regulatory updates.
The company offers a range of products and services, including a subscription-based newsletter, industry reports, and conferences. Their goal is to provide industry professionals, analysts, and enthusiasts with the latest developments and insights in the cruise industry.

The role
As an Advertising Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with a prestigious client base and promote advertising opportunities in the company's print magazine and website. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with clients in the cruise industry, including cruise lines, ports, and suppliers, and providing them with advertising solutions that meet their needs. The main responsibilities are:
  • Managing the entire sales process from initial contact to closing the deal. This includes preparing and sending proposals, negotiating terms and pricing, and handling contract agreements.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, vendors, and ports in the cruise industry. This includes understanding their business requirements, providing them with advertising solutions, and ensuring their satisfaction with the services provided.
  • Tracking and analyzing sales data, including revenue generated, conversion rates, and advertising performance. This information is used to evaluate the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and make informed decisions for future campaigns.

Requirements
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably with a focus on long sales cycles. 
  • Experience in advertising sales or the cruise industry is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven track record in sales, with the ability to meet and exceed sales targets. Experience in prospecting, and closing deals is essential.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, such as Salesforce or HubSpot, to manage client relationships, track sales activities, and generate reports.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to identify growth opportunities and optimize advertising strategies.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome challenges and achieve sales objectives.
  • Fluent English language skills are required, as the role involves communicating with clients and vendors globally.
  • A genuine passion for the cruise industry and advertising sales, with a desire to excel in the role and contribute to the company's growth.
  • A US Visa is a plus, as the company usually hosts events in Miami and Europe.

Details and benefits
  • 100% remote role with yearly on-site events.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7 am to 4 pm EST.
  • Salary: starting at $1,500 monthly (negotiable) + 10% commission per deal closed (up to 400$ per closed deal)
  • Start date: ASAP
